However, the numbers of days of which Daniel had written remained in my thoughts. Then one day the idea occurred to me that the number of days is actually the number of years until the finish. I calculated the sum of the three numbers, 1290 +1335 = 2625. Is this number symbolic, or is it the number of years from the time of Daniel's vision? Daniel 12: 11-13. These words & contradictory numbers are confusing, & to my mind were indecipherable as to the actual meaning. Four verses immediately prior to the ones quoted would appear to indicate the likelihood that God may have intended to give insight in to this prediction as the time of the finish approaches: & I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the finish of these things? & they said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up & sealed till the time of the finish. Lots of shall be purified, & made white, & tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: & not one of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Daniel 12: 7-10.
